  1. Experience and Expertise. You want a full-time agent who is familiar with your area and with the type of property you intend to sell. Does he or she employ a diverse range of marketing and advertising strategies? How tech-savvy is your agent? How many similar properties has he or she been able to sell in the past? Ask them how many homes have they sold and not how many years have they been in the business. An agent could be licensed for the past 20 years but only sold 20 homes. We suggest choosing an agent who sells at least three homes a month and who has been selling homes for at least three years so that you are hiring someone with experience. In the past three years our team sold 300 homes.
  2. Availability and Commitment. Your agent should be capable of prompt and decisive action during the course of selling your property. Does your agent make it a point to keep in touch with you constantly? Can your agent easily be contacted in case of emergencies or even for the simplest questions? Is your agent available on the weekends or in the evenings when most buyers are out looking? Also choosing an agent who works on a team provides additional help incase your agent has to go out of town while your home is selling.
  3. Past Client Reviews. Does your agent have recent past client reviews available online for you to read? We recommend choosing an agent with a great online presence that includes reviews from Past Clients. Search them on Google, Zillow and Facebook to see what past clients have said. You can also read over 150 of our past client reviews on those websites.
  4. Rapport. Does your agent take the time to listen to your goals and clarify your needs? Can your agent understand your unique situation and be genuinely concerned about the outcome of the process? Your listing agent will be your guide and partner in this crucial decision, so it is important to find one with whom you can get along.
